I sent my CV directly to company's website and quite soon after I received a prompt to choose suitable time slot for the interview.
I showed up on the chosen time to discover that there was multiple people attending to a recruitment day.
I went to reception saying I have an interview scheduled, but she directed me to the crowd of people.
They did not have my CV nor knowledge that anyone was attending to an interview. I felt embarrassed as I had never been in a situation like this, where I am invited to a job interview, but no one is actually expecting you.
I went along with the recruitment day crowd hoping this mess will sort itself out and there has been a misunderstanding. After an hour of waiting and absolutely unnecessary group activity later I was finally addressed. I had fairly pleasant chat with HR and I was expected to discuss further with the management.
When I finally got my interview they stated that in fact there is no such position available (junior sous or sous). I was extremely confused why I was invited there and why they thought it was acceptable to waste my time like this.
I was told that as they might have plans to expand and maybe have a job for me along the line. I asked the usual questions, like what are the hours like, what is expected salary. I did not receive any answers, besides generic replies like 'the usual', 'like other places'. It was so unorganised and unprofessional.
Couple of days later I received a text message that they want to have a chat with me. We agreed on specific time later that day. I expected a call on the afternoon, but no one did. Just over four hours later near 8 o'clock they chose to contact me saying that they forgot.
Today I received an email asking am I aware that I am shortlisted for 'a job' and they want me to come in for a 'cook off'.
Three vague attempts later to contact me, I still do not know what is that potential job and how much would they pay for it.
