I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Hilton (Glasgow, Scotland) in Jan 2023
Interview
Applied online in December 22 and was invited to interview in January. Attended and met with the manager who was very friendly, relaxed and funny. She went through a list of questions as provided by Hilton, explained that their hotel was the only “proper” Hilton in the city, the others just have the rights to use the name. I thought the interview went really well, it was formal but not stressful. I was told I’d hear back by the end of the next week. I heard nothing. Follow up e-mail went ignored too. This seems to be a common thing in the hospitality sector but I genuinely expected better from Hilton, especially after boasting that they were proper Hilton employees. Appalling way to treat someone, total waste of my time and made me resentful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard questions, though one stupid corporate idiotic questions - “aside from writing, name 5 uses for a pencil”. Manager did say it was at her discretion which questions to ask, that she thought it was a ridiculous thing to ask but wanted to see what I could come up with.
The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Hilton (London, England) in June 2021
Interview
It was accommodating, the hiring manager was discerning in his efforts while maintaining professionalism. During the process the manager made sure to highlight recognised value, and quantifiably explain the potential and future this company holds for its employees. From the simplicity of the interview to the efficient assessment of my qualifications, I was eager to prove myself and work with his team.
