      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in Feb 2019

      Interview

Personally was a bit disappointed about the whole process after having such high expectations for Hubspot and their culture based of what I read here. I applied and was contacted by a recruiter to schedule an initial interview. Spent a lot of time researching their value proposition and learning about the company in general since I wasn’t previously aware of Hubspot. On the day of the interview, the recruiter emailed an hour before the interview to reschedule to the next day (even though this was booked a week prior) which I agreed. On the day of the interview, the recruiter was late and only called after I sent a follow up email. At that point I felt a decision had been made prior to the call and the interview was just going to be a formal procedure. Through out the call I felt the recruiter was very disinterested. Possibly the shortest interview of my life; I was asked 4 questions which lasted 10 minutes then asked her some questions after. Please respect every candidates time because each person puts a lot into preparing for an interview.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Paris) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Those were the most impersonal interviews I’ve ever had in my life. The interviewers asked their questions in a very robotic way, making it extremely difficult to show any personality. There are two role-plays during the process, and while feedback is generally well-received, for the second one—which is a demo—the interviewer told me that in real life, it usually lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Since we only had 20 minutes, it was naturally hard to cover everything, and we were forced to cut things short. I’m quite disappointed by the lack of a human touch. During my last interview, the interviewer, who is a Senior Sales Manager, was yawning and rolling her eyes. I find that disrespectful, considering I spent hours and days preparing, and it has been such a long process.

      Interview

Pros: They give you a lot to prepare Only 3 Stages - Screening, First Task, Final Task (Role Plays and Manager inteviews) Cons: Last interview was 2 hours and split into 30 minutes with one manager and 1 hour and half with another which is very long and all in one day. So hard to do while in seat at another job and not having time off. before the final interview they lied and said "not many get through" and then after the interview said they had 8 finalists... Very formulaic and overly metric based. When you ask different managers questions they all basically giev the same rehearsed response. They dont take into account who you are as an individual, it seems like you are just a number. Also for an AE position they expect SDR level outbound metrics plus closing which is weird.

      Interview

I found the recruitment process to be well structured, transparent and very professional. I had Ali Saleem as my Talent Acquisition contact. He was highly professional, well-organised and articulate. It left a very high first impression of HubSpot's professionalism as a company. In the first call, he helped prepare me for what was to come in the interview. Some companies prefer not to speak to a candidate after rejecting them. Fortunately, Ali from Hubspot was excellent and passed on specific, clear feedback on what they were looking for and what I need to practice. From my experience, most companies don't give specific feedback like this so I greatly appreciate Ali and the Hubspot team. I can't rate the experience more highly.
