Several phone meetings and one on-site with 4 interviews. Each interview clearly had varying objectives (understanding how the employee thinks about broader concepts, how they would respond in various scenarios, etc.)

Explained clearly that it would be a Remote position that I am interested in, otherwise it would not be worth the time.
They promised it is Remote, however never mentioned you can not leave the country.
