      Content Marketing Interview

      11 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at HubSpot (Boston, MA) in Feb 2016

      Interview

The same recruiter reaches out to me every 3-6 months with a similarly crafted recruiting email because for some reason, she never remembers talking to me. I always oblige, and we have an excellent phone conversation where she promises to be in touch soon with next steps. This is where she ghosts and I don't hear from her again for a few months. I've heard the HubSpot Marketing team is highly political in who they hire, and now I'm seeing it firsthand. I would have expected better from the best inbound company's recruiting team, but I guess with success comes complacency. Treating qualified candidates like they don't matter eventually catches up with everyone, even mighty HubSpot. I will no longer go round the hamster wheel with HubSpot recruiting.

Thanks for the feedback--we've shared it with our recruiting leadership team so we can improve from it. TL;DR--the HubSpot marketing team is in fact remarkable and we owe it to candidates to ensure the system we use to attract and engage candidates is delightful too. We've recently made both team and technical changes that will help us long-term but have led to some short-term pain that I believe is at play here, I'm hopeful your feedback combined with some additional changes on our end will help address this long-term so thanks for helping us improve here--sorry we let you down! -Katie
