Manager II, Service and Support (QuickBooks Live) Interview

      20 Feb 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Mountain View, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Intuit (Mountain View, CA) in Oct 2019

      Interview

Applied in July, rejected in September, re-invited to interview in October. After being rejected and then invited for an interview a month later, the recruiter missed the scheduled phone interview and did not leave any additional contact information. After having to contact their corporate office for assistance, a great interview took place the following day. Then the company missed their own deadline for follow-up and did not follow through with the additional steps, multiple positions, or any other discussion about the position. After working through the call center again I was told they were interested in resolving these issues but multiple people promised and failed to deliver return phone calls. Multiple levels of management became involved before my concern was closed without any assistance on a new role or compensation for the trouble. I was told the reason for not hiring me was a certification never discussed during the interview process and that otherwise I was a great candidate. I was told to give them another chance and while interviewed again was subsequently told they had overestimated their hiring needs and were cancelling 12 openings with candidates in the pipeline including multiple internal candidates who would also not receive their desired promotion. Intuit is a top ranked employer but has serious issues on the hiring side so I caution anyone interviewing there to continue their search elsewhere until they have an offer in hand. As a disabled applicant this company has shown it is not friendly to accommodations as multiple requests were left unanswered. The full process for the same Manager 2 role stretched from July 2019 – January 2020. The once wonderful company has lost its direction and will likely fold in the coming years based on how things are going internally. Their staff are frustrated, candidates are confused, and since they can't formalize a plan to hire anyone will have trouble growing.
