I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Intuit in Oct 2024
Interview
I applied through Intuit Academy after completing Tax Level 1 and Tax Prep Training badges. I then received an email to complete the application through the candidate portal. About 2 days later I received a phone call from a recruiter and an email to complete the HireVue interview. They give you about 48 hours to complete the interview after receiving the email, and they ask that you set aside about 65 minutes to complete the interview.
The HireVue consists of several video and written questions. They give you a question and you get about 30 seconds to prepare for your answer, and you get about 3 minutes to answer the question.
After I completed the interview they called me 3 days later to extend an offer.

Question 1
Your customer wants to pay his tax preparation fees out of his refund. His refund is not large enough to cover the fees and he is upset. After looking at the W-2s the customer uploaded, you advise him that he can avoid the fees as he does not have a filing requirement. The customer is hesitant to believe you, as he checked with Chat GPT. You assure him that you had a client last year in the same situation and they did not have a filing requirement. Later that day, you are talking with a co-worker, and are dismayed when they say your advice to the customer was incorrect. After further research you realize the customer will have penalties and interest if they don’t file. Your co-worker was correct. How would you handle this situation?
Your team was hired to prepare returns with W-2 income with potential for growth into different aspects of return preparation. Your supervisor, Peter, just announced that the team will start preparing returns that also include basic retirement income and distribution statements.
What is your opinion about Peter's announcement?
What tax questions and issues might you encounter and how would you handle them?
How would you respond to a teammate who tells you privately that she will not prepare returns with retirement income. You know she's capable based on previous tax discussions.

Interview
One way interview via HireVue. They assess you on tax knowledge and ask some behavioral questions such as how you would respond to conflict with a coworker. I had to type up a couple of emails to clients, and research their questions with a time limit.

Question 1
They have a video where a lady asks the question. Then you get a short time to prepare, look at the camera, and record your answer. It’s easy, but I’m feeling nervous. There are some questions about how you handle customers, how you respond to feedback, and a few tax-related questions—like what an ITIN is and who needs one. You can look up that question online and just type your answer.
