I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente in Sept 2009
Interview
1) Screening interview was performed by a very charismatic manager; the interview was thorough but very enjoyable. The manager did an excellent job of determining fit for the organization.
2) Functional interview was performed by a panel of 6 managers -- very penetrating questions were asked to determine the actual knowledge and performance of the candidate. References were immediately checked.
3) Background check, drug testing, and onboarding process took the bulk of the 3 weeks.
4) Candidates are expected to work productively from day 1, though setting up your computer, phone and arranging for office space can take 3 weeks. You are expected to provide your own laptop and phone until setup has completed.
