I interviewed at Lexicon
First interview was a video call, usual job questions, had a specific interest in my experience as a consultant. Technical interview, was half a pairing interview & then a technical Q&A.
- Technical interview was in react. The problem was around a fake movie theatre site, and calling APIs for currency conversion.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon (Melbourne) in May 2023
Recruiter reached out to me asking me if I would consider moving into consulting based off my skills. 1 hour screening/introduction to the company. Got given a code base to get familiar with so in the technical interview I could extend on it. Technical interview was an hour and 15 minutes long. 30 minutes extending, 30 minute technical questions and 15 minutes of questions for the people interviewing. Got feedback from the tech interview saying that I would be a good culture fit and that my solution and reasoning behind doing things was good. Was told in the interview that they would be willing to train me in front end as I have worked only in the back end. But was told that I can't be considered for a consultant level role because I had no experience in testing and they needed someone for the role that would "hit the ground running" Was told that I may be able to continue the process as an associate consultant which was a step down from what I am currently doing so I declined.
- Extend code base 30 mintues. Add an API get method (endpoint was provided) Technical question based on experience. Nothing too serious.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon (Melbourne) in Apr 2023
First round is a chat with a recruiter from Lexicon where you chat about your experience and your motivations. Next round is a pair programming sessions with two other consultants where you work through extending some code and then some technical discussion about your experience, testing, architecture. No puzzle solving which was very refreshing. You can do this round in the language of your choice and you have a few days to familiarise yourself with the project. Next round is an behavioral interview with senior management where you talk about your experience and you also get a chance to ask them questions. Overall a great process, interviewers and recruiters were very friendly and feedback was quick and detailed.
- Add functionality to an existing piece of code

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon in Apr 2023
Overall process takes around 3 weeks, HR team is very supportive. I was approached by a recruiter from LinkedIn and had a HR screening for first round. Code challenge and upload to GitHub. Pair programming based on code challenge. Final round is to meet leadership team and culture fit.
- Unit test CI/CD Clean code

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lexicon (Melbourne) in Mar 2023
In the first round, I had a call with HR . The second Round was a Technical Interview with two senior developers. Third round would have been with the company founder.
- In the first round, I had a call with HR to discuss my qualifications and experience. We discussed the company culture, job requirements, and career goals. The second Round was a Technical Interview: The technical interview lasted around 90 minutes. Before the interview, they provided me with a git repository code to familiarize myself with, and during the interview, they asked me to extend it. After completing the task, they inquired about my past projects, CI/CD, and versioning. However, I never heard back from them after this round, which I found unprofessional.

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon (Melbourne) in Feb 2023
Throughout the interview process, it was conducted in a professional manner, however; by the 3rd interview with leadership, I was unimpressed by comments and remarks from the director of the company. Asked why I would not be offered a certain level, the reason was that “I have not worked in a “good team” with my current experience while even name dropping the companies I worked with and comparing with Lexicon. It is quite unprofessional when a director of a company says these things within an interview especially when trying to sway potential candidates into your company. After the interview, I called the HR team to withdraw my application
- What is your current experience as a BA? Case study questions Current line of work

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon (Sydney) in Feb 2023
I was referred by an internal employee and the Talent Team promptly connected with me via Linkedin. We arranged a phone call as the first stage of the interview process. It was a friendly conversation. Then we scheduled stage 2 with a scenario to be navigated with other people from Lexicon in a role-playing exercise. I was able to prepare beforehand and deliver it in the expected time frame with more information being provided throughout the exercise (1.5 hours). The last step was a conversation with the potential manager and one of the founders/leaders of the company (1 hour), which touched on my approach to challenges, experience with consulting and opened space to ask questions. Overall, great!
- How would you take this potential product/software opportunity and get a team up to speed to start developing it?

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lexicon (Sydney) in Feb 2023
A recruiter from Lexicon reached out to me via Linkedin and we got in a conversation for what role is about, what the interview looks like and expectations, etc. The next stage of the interview is a live coding challenge where they sent you a coding challenge repo (this has many version in many programming languages) beforehand ( no action required ) to read and get familiar with before the interview - This is what I like best as it give you more time to prepare and really get to know the codebase. I got about 1 week to prepare for the live coding. In the live coding interview, two senior engineers gave me an extension on a feature of the codebase and asked me to complete in about 30-45min after that we discussed about how the code could be improved, how I work in the current company and consulting experience. The third and last interview is with the engineering director. It was a chill conversation, more like get to know kinda thing ( some behavioural and past experience were questions were also asked )
- Past experience, CI / CD process, TDD

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Lexicon (Sydney) in Jan 2023
This is the most well thought out and pleasing interview process that I've attended. Initial call with a recruiter to see the role and skills fit. Then I was sent a code base the same day to get accustomed to for the live pairing session scheduled in couple of days. Pairing went really well. The engineers were very helpful and friendly. Didn't get a feel of an interview. Had to make a code extension and answer some questions about design decisions. The third round was with the management where you get grilled with behavioural questions. Overall the process is well thought out with clear communication at every step of what to expect next.
- design a high performing and available Online site
- how would you handle slow third party APIs
- behavioural: how to you deal a conflict within your team
- behavioural: have you used your authority to make decisions
- behavioural: what are some of the negative feedback you received
