I applied through other source. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Dublin, Dublin) in Aug 2015
Interview
The interview process was long and drawn out. I was contacted by a LinkedIn Talent Scout through my LinkedIn page. I had an initial screening call with him to discuss the role and my suitability. At this stage I found out that the role was still waiting on final confirmation but they were starting the interview process early so that once it was approved they would already have someone lined up.
After this initial screening call I had a call with a manager on the Insights team. This call lasted roughly 45 minutes, and covered my suitability for the role, experience, and also my motivations for moving to LinkedIn. I was successful with this round and made it through to the next round - a call with a senior member of the insights team. This call covered very similar topics, looking at my experience in this area, and motivations for working in LinkedIn.
Again I was successful with this and progressed to the next round which involved completing a presentation. I was provided information on potential new client and had to put together 2 slides demonstrating the advantages of this client investing in a Career Page. I spent my weekend completing this, and put a lot of effort into this. I again was told I was successful and the next round would be face to face interviews. It was great to hear this as the process had now been going on four months, what with emails back and forth, setting up different calls, finding dates that suited managers, etc. I was told I would hear from someone in the next week or two to set up an interview.
And then nothing... I heard nothing. I then followed up with HR and was told that as the role was now getting closer to sign off that they were interviewing more people and would be in touch the following week, once they had a final list, to arrange my interview date. That was over 2 months ago and I haven't heard a thing. It is hugely disappointing after the effort I put into the different rounds of interviews and the presentation, to then be told I had an interview but then never hear back.

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Dublin, Dublin) in Sept 2025
Interview
First call with RH.
Second call with Hiring manager, mostly behavioural questions, but kindly wanted to know more about me, my experience and my motivations.
Then they sent me an exercise: a spreadsheet to analyse, using the findings based on this data to make an insightful presentation. Present it in front of some people to rate your presentation skills, plus behavioural questions.
At the end, on a Friday night, I received an email with the subject "next steps" and saying to call HR. Very disappointed to make the call to hear that there are no next steps and the process is over because they found a better candidates. Please use the subject of your email wisely!
