Interview
I saw a 3-month old job posting and decided to apply anyway. To my surprise, I was contacted by a recruiter a few days later.
1st round - phone screen with the recruiter
2nd round (after over a month from the 1st) - phone screen with the hiring manager
3rd round (after 2 weeks from the 2nd) - 6 hours onsite panel interviews with multiple members of the team, management, and senior leadership.
The overall impression I got after the interview - team disorganization! They didn't seem to care much about my skills and experience. They are looking for someone who will defend the team when it comes to collaboration with other teams across the org.
It felt like the senior leader didn't even know what position I was interviewing for and asked questions that were totally unrelated to my background and experience.
A few days after my interview, while still waiting for their feedback, (now) the 5-month old position was re-posted again. One of the previous reviews on Glassdoor says "Looks like they want to interview the whole Bay Area before making a decision" and I totally agree with that.
If they can't find the right candidate after almost 6 month means something is wrong with the company, not the candidates.
