The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company in June 2010
Interview
They contacted me rather swiftly after I applied online. I booked a time for problem solving test, which was demanding but ok. I passed and now I am waiting for the interviews. As for the test, read answers carefully, but in questions there tends to be a lot of dead text that will not serve you in answering the question. Also, a practice in numerical operations without a calculator helps. You are always asked to (roughly) calculate 85% from 5400 and the like.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A company having an annual profit of 20 million is facing a 15% decline in profit. They are launching a new product with a profit margin of 10dollars per piece. How many of these products would they need to sell to make up for the decline?
After submitting my application in their portal. In about two days I recevied the link to do their Solve assessment, The assessment had three games. I was however not selected for the next rounds.
Recruiter Round - not that difficult: we dicusssed background, interview timeline, current visa stutus, and limited bahaviroal questions. And I was able to pass into the 1st round interview after this one.
Whole timeline: recruiter interview -> 1 month -> 1st round
The interview process was tricky - several technical and consulting questions were asked. Good preparation is needed to clear it on the basis of data analysis, problem solving and communication.
