After a phone screening with a recruiter and then a hiring manager interview, I was essentially left on read for three weeks. Workday showed I was still under consideration with a green "interviews underway," so after 8 days of silence I followed up with the recruiter but got no reply. Another week passed, another follow-up, also ignored. Finally, after three weeks, the form rejection came, mercifully.
I understand hiring takes time. What I don't understand is why, when it takes just 30 seconds to manage a candidate's expectations, that courtesy wasn't worth extending. If this is how Priceline treats people before they're employees, it raises real questions about the culture inside.
