      Solutions Architect Interview

      11 Dec 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Toronto, ON
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2021

      Interview

      1. Call with recruiter. Typical call. Talked about experience. 2. Interview with technical architect. All the interviewers have a form they have to fill out so it’s all standard stuff. This one asked about specific and very technical questions. I couldn’t answer one and outright said so. I asked if I would have to know stuff like that as a solutions architect and they said no. 3. Interview with solutions architect. More solutions oriented towards sf platform. Stick to what you’ve done and what you know. Spoke about my experience again. 4. Panel with a director and two managers of different practice areas. Presented a business problem I did in the past with diagrams. Important here is to try to stick with a problem you were a part of in real life. Diagrams and visuals are key. People don’t like bullet points. Spoke about my experience again. Lots of question about client management. I always start off any introductions in an interview with a brief 2-5min blurb about my experience. How I started, where I’ve been, where/what I’m doing now. Always hit the key points you want to mention like if you’ve done large implementations and what your role was. As you answer questions, try to pick specific scenarios you’ve done as answers if you can. Be personable. Part of the job is you have to be personable towards clients but also know your stuff. It’s key. It’s ok to talk about your life, kids, pets, etc. Act like it’s just a conversation if you can get into that mindset. Recruiter followed up after every interview. Everything went well. Got an offer with stock options. Did some negotiating (know your worth). Accepted the offer.

      Interview

Went through 3 rounds of interviews over the course of 2 months. After being informed the team would love to have me join and that I would be a great fit, the job offer could not be given until they went through approvals. After 2 weeks, I finally followed up to be told by the recruiter that the job was now paused and not hiring. Unfortunately, the outcome was quite disappointing and unprofessional
