I have been working at Salesforce full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Solution Engineers get acknowledged for being a crucial part of the closure of millions of dollars a year. Work life balance is really respectful for people with all personal lives. We can work from home as much or as little as we'd like. But most of all, our leadership entrusts us emphatically with the future of the business, so I feel 100% supported in my actions. When we speak up, our voice is heard, listened to and...

    Cons

Fast paced environment could take awhile to get used to, but SE Managers are great at swiftly shielding you from being burnt out.

    Advice to Management

We are constantly motivated by the leadership in Solution Engineering, so keep up the good work. One suggestion would be to run SPIFFs for SEs to allow us to go above and beyond for a reward.

I have been working at Salesforce full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Excellent location, good benefits, smart colleagues, engaging customers, and some of the best products in the business. When things “work”, your individual contribution can make an actual difference. Account executives view us as equals and work well with us as a team dedicated to customer success.

    Cons

As solution engineers we should get the best seat in the house, as we create real customer success. Unfortunately, certain elements in solution engineering management are capable of completely destroying this experience by instead focusing on drama, endless chatter, inflating their egos, and enjoying a good amount of backstabbing, bickering, and passive aggressive behavior. The Ohana, and the often touted values of...

I worked at Salesforce full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Amazing work environment with an incredible focus on employees. It is only fitting of the title of Best Place to Work in Sydney, with awesome career progression opportunities.

    Cons

Sometimes employees have an expectation that tenure equal promotion, so when it comes to evaluation time performance often hinders their journey forward, I only say this as a con as Salesforce doesn't do the greatest amount of expectation setting to create a comfortable and motivated environment. Don't make the mistake of thinking that the actual job you are doing is any different to any other inside sales role. They...

    Pros

The pay can be really good

    Cons

If you don't match a certain personality type or you don't see eye to eye with certain topics such as agendas, world events, and certain political movements etc, you will quickly find yourself into a deep hole. Management here will make you feel like dog crap and quickly make you into an outsider. Advice to Management

Respect all employees regardless of their religious, cultural, or personality differences. Just because we may not see eye to eye on certain topics, its best to just respect the difference of opinions which is okay and learn to work in harmony together rather than making employees feel like outsiders.

    Pros

Market leader. Great value and product set. Inspiring vision from CEO(s).

    Cons

Middle management are unfortunately more concerned with moving up the value chain than their customers and employees. A lot of politicking and backstabbing. No longer a meritocracy. High attrition of top performing Managers and Account Executives due to the above. Middle management out of touch with the frontline challenges. Pay is materially below the market average and competitors locally. Territories are too small...

    Advice to Management

I joined the business due to it's maniacal passion for its customers and employees, which lead to growth. There's been a recent shift in a focus on growth at the expense of customers and employees. It's time to pivot back.
