Interview
I interviewed for the role based in London. The process took 4 weeks - had a call with recruiter and then 3 individuals - hiring manager, team member and cross-functional member. All were at VP - director level. Calls with hiring manager and a team member went really well. They were professional, prepared and asking questions to assess my relevant skills. Then came the third interview with a cross-functional person - she was 10 min late and completely unprepared. Looked like she was having a bad day. She called the interview a “casual chat” and started asking irrelevant and personal questions (such as my university choices (20+ years ago!) and reasons for moving to the UK) instead of assessing role-related skills. After such a poor experience I wasn’t expecting to move to the next stage - it was clear that interviewer had a personal dislike of me. Interestingly, the rejection reason was lack of experience in professional services - which wasn’t a requirement (I asked in the beginning of the process and would even got an interview if it was).
