I applied originally in February 2018. I finally got an email for phone interview in late May of 2019. After a phone interview (which went VERY well) the recruiter told me to expect a face-to-face interview. It took about 6 weeks to finally receive the face-to-face email with instructions. I had to email the recruiter a couple of times to give a gentle reminder that I was still waiting on the instructions. They flew me in for a face-to-face interview and the instructions were very clear. There were only a total of three candidates there including myself. One candidate brought their mother! Southwest was more than accommodating allowing the mother to wait - but who does this!? Our individual interviews were with a senior FA from OAK and a human resources styled recruiter person. I studied questions beforehand and I genuinely had great answers to their questions. They looked at me and smiled the whole time - just like flight attendants do (kinda fake). I could tell when I walked back with them that we simply had ZERO chemistry. NONE. I could tell they were uncomfortable and just wanted to get the interview over with. It didn't matter what my answers were - the two ladies just didn't vibe with me. It's a shame because I genuinely love taking care of guests and would have fit in very well at Southwest. There was no surprise when I received a denial email the week after the interview; but oh well, life goes on. If the door doesn't open, it's not your door.
