Senior Software Quality Engineer, Embedded Interview

      1 July 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stryker in June 2026

      Interview

After the HM interview(30 Minute Teams VC felt designed to trip up candidates consisting of multiple questions out of scope for the posted role. Only 20 seconds were left at the end for candidate questions, then hard stop. Felt like a impersonal interrogation/collection of my embedded expertise), I texted the recruiter to confirm a standard logistical detail regarding core in-office working hours. Instead of a professional response, I was completely ghosted. Less than 48 hours later, on 6/10, a cold, automated Workday rejection email hit my inbox. Fast forward to July 1st, and the exact same job requisition is still actively posted on their careers page. They chose to ghost a qualified specialist and leave a critical, urgent project completely paralyzed rather than answer basic operational questions or handle relocation logistics. Frankly, I feel incredibly lucky to have avoided additional rounds. By getting cut loose immediately, I completely bypassed Stryker's notorious, pseudo-scientific Gallup Perceiver round. Sparing a logical engineering mind from a multi-hour corporate personality interrogation is a massive blessing. Trying to ship safety-critical medical software under their roof would be a bureaucratic nightmare. They missed out on a rare specialist; I successfully avoided a broken corporate environment.

      Question 1

I know this is an impossible question to ask you for the scope of this role/industry, but if working software was demanded on the spot, how would you address and/or fulfill this request.
