The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Target in Apr 2010
Interview
Target has a very difficult interview process. First step is to apply, everything goes online, so you may as well do this step from home. Otherwise you can apply in store. You will then be asked to complete some online questionaires, as well as an assessment test, also online. Then you will be set up for the actual interviews. This is three seperate interviews, usually with one Store Team Leader asking the questions, and a 2nd Store Team Leader writing your answers. The questions are all situationally based, "Tell me about a time when..." and what they are looking for is to see the leadership dimensions come out in your answers. It should fit the format, A short introduction to what the issues or problem is, A LOT of detail about the actions you performed and steps you took to the through this, and A result, Good or BAD, but either way, what you learned and took out of the whole ordeal. Each interview is about 6 questions long. They may have follow up questions. By the 3rd interview you should be with the District Team Leader.

I applied through university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)
Interview
It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
