      ETL Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Sept 2012

      Interview

I was recruited by Target for an ETL position. They contacted me and I went through 2 phone and 2 in person interviews before they decided I hadn't had enough experience. I received a generic no-reply email stating that I was not selected and they don't give feed back with regards to the interview process. It was extremely impersonal and generic, which is something they aim not to be according to their "culture". Two days after receiving this email I got a call from HR at the store I interviewed with saying the last person I spoke with recommended me for a position two steps below the one they recruited me for. I began the process over again, and was informed that I would be required to have at least 3 more interviews. After the first interview in the second round I was contacted regarding salary. The store manager was nice and honest about the expectations we both had and we decided to go our separate ways. I appreciated his honesty and the phone call. At least he cared enough to contact me. After having gone through this process and reading the reviews, I feel I may have dodged a bullet. Maybe I have a scewed view of what "recruiting" means, but I wasn't expecting such a repetative, impersonal process.
