      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Miami, FL) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Easy and straightforward. The recruiter is a great bridge to the position and the video interviews are great. 2 interviews with the recruiter, 1 with a Director and final with DSM and either HR or a director as well.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Streetsboro, OH) in Sept 2021

      Interview

Overall I was extremely disappointed in my interview at Target. I arrived 10 minutes early for my interview. After I waited another 25 minutes it was a little disheartening that I had been waiting on a Manager I passed on my way in. He had been outside chatting with another team member. We walked the sales floor. He explained the full scope of the position and that I would not be focusing on visual merchandising. I am a team player and understand you go where needed. After all I was coming from a retail store management position. I was at my last company 12 years. I had successfully ran 6 different retail locations as SM. Unfortunately my last assignment I became the target of a violent and hostile situation. I left because I needed to for my well-being. I was open about this with the manager interviewing me. When he asked me for details, I started having a mild panic attack. This was my first interview and no matter how much I prepared, I wasn’t. I explained how I was feeling and why. Despite everything, I actually thought my interview went well. At least until the end. I was told he wanted to give me a little advice. Work on articulating your answers better. You do not present yourself as management material. I don’t look/listen to you and think of a leader. Here at Target we have higher expectations than you are probably used to. It was such an insult to me and my 20 years in the business. Not only did I know what an amazing team player/manager I am, (I still get calls from my old teams) I was dressed impeccably. To reduce me because I had a small panic attack especially knowing that I had been bullied at my last position. Awful! I wouldn’t want to work for Target if that’s what their leadership is.

      Interview

It was a group interview process. They asked basic questions, then we walked the sales floor to merchandise a specific area. After I met with the store HR manager to go over next steps in the interview process.
