Store Team Leader In Training Interview

      13 Dec 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Nov 2010

      Interview

A Target recruiter found me through LinkedIn. After I sent the recruiter my resume, she set up an initial phone interview. The phone screen lasted less than 15 minutes. She then recommended me to another recruiter. Again, this interview only lasted 15 minutes. From there, I interviewd with the District Team Leader (District Manager). The final step was interviewing with the Group Director (a regional VP) and the Group HR Director. Generally, each interview consisted of 4-6 behavioral style questions (so...tell me about a time you...) along with some general questions (willingness to relocate, salary expectations, how did we find you, why are you looking to leave, strength/weakness, etc). The questions that you see listed on this site come up over and over again. I strongly urge you to review these questions and have an answer (or at least a general idea) for each of the questions. If you go far enough through the interview process, it's almost guaranteed that these questions will come up. Target has an interview guide that they use at all stages of the process.
