      Executive Intern Interview

      14 Mar 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2011

      Interview

I first became interested in Target after I met some of their employees. They all seemed like fun people and conveyed a sense of excitement for their job. They were also very helpful and approachable with any questions for prospective employees and interns. Email correspondence was also very easy. The lady that I contacted for more information about the position was very prompt in her response and immediately scheduled an in person interview with me. The day of the interview came and my interviewer was a store manager in the area. He was the least exciting and enthusiastic of all the Target employees I had interacted with and I could tell we just didn't connect. The interview itself was very rigid. They have an interview packet with the specific questions to ask and the interviewer takes notes in the packet. The entire time, he was looking down, taking notes, as if he was disinterested, so I didn't get a very good vibe from him. Needless to say, I received an email a couple days later saying that they decided to pursue other candidates. The email also explicitly stated that you cannot ask for feedback, per company policy. Oh yea, prospective interns go through the exact same interviewing process as executive team leaders, so you're hired on the same standards.
