      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Target (Bengaluru) in Jan 2025

      Interview

The interview process at Target consisted of multiple rounds, ranging from medium to low difficulty. Round 1: A discussion with the hiring manager, primarily focused on explaining the role and presenting my work. Round 2 (Jury Round): I presented two case studies to a panel of two interviewers—one lead product designer and a manager who had already reviewed my work and kept her camera off. While I expected thoughtful doubts/questions, the interviewers didn’t seem fully engaged and asked questions that didn’t add much depth to the conversation. Round 3 (Whiteboarding Session): This round was different from typical whiteboarding interviews, as there were three interviewers present. One of them initially mentioned that we would collaborate to solve the problem, but the actual expectation was to independently solve it while articulating my thought process. Additionally, most of the interviewers turned off their cameras during the session, making it feel impersonal. When I had questions, only one person would briefly turn their camera on to respond. Overall, the experience felt a bit disengaged and unclear at times, which made the process more challenging than necessary. Clearer expectations and a more interactive approach would improve the experience for future candidates.

      Question 1

During the whiteboarding session, one of the interviewers asked how to make it more accessible. What accessibility features would you add?
      Answer question

      Interview

I completed a 30-minute initial interview with a UX Manager who inquired about my background. This led to a second-round panel interview lasting one hour where I presented two case studies. After each presentation, I allocated time for questions.

      Question 1

The panel asked a fair amount of questions about my design decisions, analytical metrics, what metrics I would have prioritized, and how I collaborated with engineering teams.
