I applied through university. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services (Eranakulam) in July 2022
Interview
During the interview, I was also asked detailed questions around the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) — including each phase, what activities happen, how documentation and testing fit into the cycle, and how change requests / production issues are handled across stages.
They went deep into:
Requirements gathering & analysis
Design approach (High Level + Low Level)
Development practices / coding standards
Testing phases (unit, integration, UAT)
Deployment strategy
Post-production support and maintenance
So they mainly wanted to evaluate how clearly I understand the end-to-end SDLC flow in real projects.

Interview
After clearing the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT), I attended a single interview round that combined technical and HR questions. The interviewer focused on my projects, programming knowledge, and understanding of current technologies. One of the main discussion topics was the difference between traditional software systems and AI-based systems. The interview was conversational, and the interviewer evaluated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and technical understanding. The overall experience was positive and the difficulty level was average.
