I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thales (Toronto, ON) in May 2022
Interview
For my interview process, there were two rounds in total:
HR Screening Call: The first round was a call with an HR representative. This was mainly a background verification step where they asked about my work experience, educational background, and legal status in Canada. They also provided a brief overview of the company and the role, discussing expectations and ensuring that my qualifications aligned with the position.
Technical Interview with Engineers: The second round involved a technical discussion with the engineering team. The focus was primarily on my past projects, where I had the opportunity to explain my work, the technologies I used, and the challenges I faced. Additionally, they asked about fundamental technical concepts relevant to the role, ensuring I had a solid understanding of core principles. The interview was more of a discussion rather than a strict coding test, emphasizing practical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked you about your previous job experience and asked me about my projects
Really quick interview process starting with easy, basic programming questions and increasing the difficulty to see how I understand the problem. I will say the process was not that difficult with questions about operating systems, pointers, memory allocation for a job on embedded systems
