I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Seattle, WA) in July 2013
Interview
Applied online, was called within a few days of applying for a phone interview. I was asked a few very generic interview questions and then was scheduled a in-person interview at my local store. My interviewer was very welcoming and asked questions about my past experiences relating to the job and how I would/have acted in certain situations in the past. I was offered the job on the spot and accepted, pending a background/urine test. It took like 2-3 weeks for them to call to set up a orientation... I had called a couple of times wondering why it had been taking so long and they had told me they were waiting for the urine test.. I guess the wait is common in the company though.. Many others I work with had the same long wait.

Describe a time you went above and beyond for the customer.
What do you find most difficult about working in retail?
What makes you an asset to the team?
just a conversation with the HR team, asked the basic questions and nothing to stressful. they made the process very easy and the interview was actually truely with only one single person
5 minutes not even an interview just acceptance. I walked in and they said when can you start and if I can submit to a drug test and background check I said yes and left.

Interview
The interview process was a friendly and professional experience overall. The managers are nice and accommodating to students at least at this location as I was a current student at Oregon state university and needed to work around a college schedule.
