I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at UserTesting (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2015
Interview
I had two phone interviews with a junior recruiter and then a senior recruiter - both in-house. Then I was brought in for three interviews. One with the hiring manager, one with her boss and one with a potential co-worker. The interview itself was fairly straightforward and casual. The hiring manager had a bit of a scowl on her face but I let it go as she was a bit younger than me and had just been promoted tot he senior role so this may have been her first ever interview. Who knows. With all that said, all five interviews went very well and I left feeling very good. Here's where the experience goes south, way south. Like Yucatan Peninsula south. I waited a week and no word, so I emailed the senior recruiter. They told me that I was definitely in the running and that they were finishing up other interviews. So I waited. Then emailed a week later and said they should be deciding shortly. So I waited another week and emailed and no response. So I waited another week and emailed, no response. And then another week, email, no response. After 3 straight weeks of no responses I assumed the job had been given to someone else. I gave it one more shot almost 6 weeks after our last communication and the sr. recruiter finally wrote back apologizing. Said he was on vacation and that they decided not to hire for the position and instead focus on hiring their CMO. I found it extremely unprofessional. A two sentence email would have sufficed but instead they let it go for almost 8 weeks after a very positive interview. Sounds like a case of a start-up growing too fast.
