I applied online. I interviewed at Westpac Group (Gold Coast) in Feb 2026
Interview
Location: QLD
Completed an online technical assessment followed by a technical interview with the team, which went well. HR followed up asking for my availability for the next round, which felt encouraging.
After that — complete silence. No follow-up, no rejection, nothing. I reached out via email and phone multiple times with no response.
Pros: The technical team was engaged and the interview itself felt fair and professional.
Cons: Complete lack of communication after the HR follow-up. Being ghosted after investing time in multiple rounds is disrespectful to candidates. At minimum, a rejection email takes 30 seconds. This reflects poorly on the company's candidate experience and professionalism.

Interview
First call with the recruiter, Then a take home assessment. Then a technical interview that lasted an hour. Simple react and javascript questions regards DOM and hooks. However, HR went mia after the interview, tried emailing and calling without any response. Just a waste of time

Question 1
Javascript questions like event loops, DOM manipulations, react components and hooks
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Westpac Group in June 2025
Interview
Today, I attempted the online API test and found that the environment did not support GET or POST requests. After reaching out for clarification, I was told that my incomplete test disqualified me.
This experience raises serious concerns. If Westpac can’t manage a proper test environment, how can I trust that they’re capable of providing a reliable working environment? This oversight has convinced me not to pursue further opportunities with the company.
