      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      7 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

I applied for the recruiting coordinator position at Zillow and was able to come in for an in person interview. I originally got inspired to work at Zillow in 2016 when Rich Barton came to Year Up as a guest speaker. Year Up in a non profit organization that helps minorities from the ages of 18-24 to further their education. He stated the core values of a company is the back bone, it supports the vision and guides the employees to be motivated to come into work each day, knowing they’re making a positive impact on the community. That is when I was first drawn to Zillow and when I received the opportunity to interview there, I was beyond grateful. The interview process was smooth, everyone was welcoming and I got a great sense of the company culture just by the interviewers. I met with the team, recruiters, and hiring manager. Each interviewer making me more excited for this position. I had another offer from another company at the time. However, Zillow was always my first preference. When I told the recruiter this she let me know within a day that the hiring team was impressed and would love to give me the job offer (start date being Feb 3rd). I got a call on Monday (January 27th) from the recruiter stating that the job req had to get a few approvals before being officially opened. I was a bit concerned whether this job offer was being pulled but I was assured by the recruiter that this position was needed and will 100% be filled. I declined the offer from the other company and was excited to start working at Zillow. A few days passed and when I asked for an update today I was told that the role will not be opened due to headcount planning for the recruiting org. I am frustrated that your main core values “turn on the lights” and “Act with integrity” was not met in this process. I was reassured that I would be filling this role but then later told the role is no longer needed. I know this was my mistake, I should have waited to get the official written job offer. I thought this whole issue was processed very unprofessionally by the recruiter. When I reached out to someone about this hoping to find some type of explanation, I was asked if I had any proof. I showed the text/email exchanged with the recruiter but the recruiter called me to tell me I got the job. So technically there was no real proof. I was then never contacted again about it.

      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      29 July 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Woburn, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Woburn, MA) in May 2022

      Interview

I really enjoyed the interview process - I was technically hired as a contractor to start, and interviewed with a panel of 3 then-current employees (recruiter, manager, and coordinator). Each round was half an hour. This followed a half hour informational call with the hiring manager. I was made an offer the same day I interviewed, via email. They will ask you about your interest and background, and will go through prioritization exercises with you as well as ask about times you handled failure, times you provided excellent candidate or customer experience, etc.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow in July 2021

      Interview

Process took a few weeks, interviewers (there were 4 total, one of which was the hiring manager) were all nice and personable. No true feedback as to why I wasn't offered other than they went with other candidates. Bummer!
