      Offer Advisor Interview

      2 Mar 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tampa, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Zillow (Tampa, FL) in Feb 2021

      Interview

First interview is a telephone pre-qualification. They covered the basics of the job and them setup a follow-up video interview. I spoke with 3 people for over 30 minutes each in a video format. I thought the interviews went well but was told that they hired someone else. No reason given.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      a) Sell me something. I was asked to sell them something so the woman asked for me to sell her a mac computer. I thought this was not helpful since my job was to present offers to sellers. I have been presenting and negotiating offers for over 40 years. B0 How do you copy and paste text in a document? The second interviewer asked me if I know how to copy and paste text from a pdf into another document so the text was the same throughout. The interviewer was young and I think they asked me that question since they knew that I was not 30 something. If you look through Zillows marketing, no one is over 35 in the picture. They are big on telling you change is constant. I believe that I presented more offers successfully in my career than all of the 3 interviewers combined. All 3 of them told how they used to be in real estate but not one of them was in it longer than 7 years. Basically, I think it is my age that was the problem. Based upon my resume, they probably thought I am in my 50's. I do not look my age as many have told me. I know of others that applied to Zillow for the same position and they too were rejected. They also thought it was age bias. Of course, Zillow will never admit it since it is discriminatory. Be warned, if you are over 35, I doubt you will get hired. It would be interesting to see the average age of Zillow employees. I would bet money it is under 35.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Zillow in July 2021

      Interview

Applied online and received an invitation for a phone call interview within a few days. The recruiter was very pleasant and professional, answered all my questions. Was told that she would get an interview scheduled with the Texas team asap once I sent over my licensing information. I immediately sent over the details and never heard back. Reached out via email and tried calling but never received a response. A simple "no" would've sufficed.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Zillow in June 2021

      Interview

Initially, I was contact by a recruiter. She asked questions I would assume to verify I was qualified for the position and then educated me about the role itself. She was extremely friendly and professional. She scheduled an interview with two managers for the following week. I was interviewed via Zoom by two different managers for 30 minutes each. Overall, I was very impressed by the entire process. Everyone was very friendly, professional and I felt 100% comfortable visiting with each of them. The recruiter kept me informed about the process and was great to work with.
