I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow in June 2024
Interview
The worst interview experience I had in my life! A recruiter call followed by a tech screen. The tech screen engineer was extremely rude and when I asked clarifying questions, would repeatedly tell me to re-read the question prompt carefully, although the question prompt doesn't provide all the details. After coding a solution that passed the test cases, he wasn't happy with it and didn't clarify. When I asked him to provide other examples where my code wouldn't work, he acted entitled and offended. Despite his vague instructions, I was able to improve my solution and answer his follow-up questions. 2 days later, I receive a rejection for no mentioned reasons. A terrible waste of time with a disrespectful interviewer. Don't recommend interviewing with Zillow
Multi round, consisted of a first round technical interview and a 4-interview final round (3 coding, 1 qualitative). All interviews were conducted remotely, and the interviewers were very respectful of my time and scheduling accommodations.
First asking about past experiences / projects such as the challenge encountered, why to choose a specific model, the pros and cons of your model, the outcome of your projects etc. Then a case question was given and asking to write codes using machine learning methods to solve the question.
