I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Zomato (New Delhi) in July 2013
Interview
I was called for an F2F interview at Delhi Office. I was contacted directly by the HR of Zomato, New Delhi. I had not prepared well for the puzzle round in which I performed very poorly. I had good command over web technologies and hence performed very well in that.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Find minimum number of races to find top 3 fastest horses among 25 horses using a race track having 5 lanes
My interview went well and at the end they told me they wanted to make me an offer. Asked me my CTC and expected salary. I knew the salaries for web developer role thanks to glassdoor, so I referred to that figure as my expectation. They said they will get back to me, but finally did not make me an offer.
They want quality people working from morning to late evening, even on weekends, but are not willing to pay in accordance with that. It is sad to learn that one of India's top startup doesn't have equal standards for all their employees. I don't think working in such an environment would have been fun.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical questions were not very tough. But there was one puzzle type question which was not easy to crack.
