Bas-X is a fast growing IT company and market leader in their field. Located half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and with a national customer base we design and develop retail enterprise software applications, data warehousing, and ETL solutions over the Bas-X “cloud”.

We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, suitably qualified and commercially experienced Database Developer to join our highly respected team renowned for their quality and innovation.

The Role

You will be an integral part of our dynamic team building a ‘next generation’ database centric Retail ERP system. You will be given creative freedom and major responsibility for the projects data flexibility, quality, integrity, and performance.

Your Responsibilities

The design of complex database stored procedures, external functions and triggers to meet the business requirements for;

• ETL tasks

• User Interface components

• BI Reporting / Data Warehouse tasks

• Web Services

• Session Audit Logging of XML schemas and Test Case Scenarios for Data Transfer Capacity

• Security and Disaster Recovery

Your Tasks

• Documentation for project control and data modeling

• PSQL coding

• Implementation of database upgrade and version control

• Assistance with QA and 3rd level support

Selection Criteria

Successful applicants will have minimum 3 years experience in a similar role and demonstrate the following:

• Very strong PL/SQL programming experience in Oracle PostgreSQL (and Firebird) is highly desirable.

• Strong experience in Data Modeling.

• Strong Data warehouse experience.

• Strong XML experience.

• Strong Data Quality experience.

• Retail POS and Financial Accounting experience is highly desirable.

• Ability to investigate, analyze & resolve system problems of a complex nature,

• Ability to test software and to liaise with the appropriate authority on a technical level.

• Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills, both written and oral.

• You will be a self starter and demonstrate initiative and organizational skills

Applicants are required to undergo a 2 hour practical examination at our Springwood office. The test will allow you to demonstrate your exceptional problem solving skills, and PL/SQL ability.

An interview will be arranged for successful examinees only.
