Although the compensation is attractive, it definitely is not worth the amount of hours you are forced to work. In a small market, making $45k as a 22 year old with no work experience seems incredible, but you have to work 55-65 hours per week with almost no exception. Penciling it out into an hourly wage, it isn't quite as good as it seems.
It is a confrontational environment, which definitely isn't a bad thing, but it's used more of an intimidation method. You are called out in front of your entire office twice each day and you have to give a progress update. This is very difficult when you are struggling to fill your position and at times, multiple people, for lack of a better word, attack you, for not completing your task.
The final con I saw certainly doesn't apply to every office, but I saw some managers and directors verbally abuse recruiters and other managers. I'm talking about daily basis, in your face dropping F-bombs, and in many cases, in front of multiple other employees or the entire office. Most recruiters are thick skinned and can get over it but it can be embarrassing and uncomfortable. The worst part is that since there are so many young people, you kind of assume that this is how things go in the working world. After leaving, I've quickly learned that if this behavior went on at 99% of other companies, they would be fired.
