Pros

Set schedule M-F, some of the managers are fun an have a sense of humor and care about their employees, employee week is AWESOME, Barry seems to be a nice guy with all the charity work the company does for the area.

Cons

Everything I am about to state is based on true events which is why GOOD employees LEAVE every 6 months and why they cant keep most employees longer than 3–4 weeks. They hire you within 2 days to put you in a situation where they know you need a job and get you in so its harder to leave. They’re not upfront about commission/pay scale during interview process: In the first interview they condense the entire collection industry in 40 minutes (skipping over the most important details). Most people looking for job opportunity know NOTHING of the collection industry. In that 40 minutes they tell the interviewer that you earn commission when you collect $5500. At first you think “okay I’m up for the challenge, it sounds reasonable”. Then they dont discuss the pay scale with you again until they have a “team meeting” for the new hires 2 weeks into the job. RED FLAG. What they SHOULD tell you in the interview is for you to see a cent of commission, you TRULY need to collect $11,000. They would make the argument that the company only receives 50% of what is collected so thats why they said $5,500 in the interview. I would not have accepted the position if they were 100% honest in the interview process. They have employees that have been there for years because they are paid different than new employees that are paid $10 an hour and told NOT to discuss pay with anyone so new hires feel that $10 per hour is the norm. They are NOT a corporration but they try to run it as one with little to no sympathy and compassion when people have health or family emergencies as if “their hands are tied”; “We need to let you go, you were late today even though you told us you had to go to the dentist for a toothache.” “You were late last week by a minute and today by 30 seconds, this is your final warning. “ “Your pregnant wife’s tire blew out on the way to work so you had to go help her? Pshhh if your late by 1 minute again your fired.” Instead of hearing their employees out when they seek hirer wages for their work because they deserve it (some employees out perform managers) they get angry and say “you can work as much overtime as you like, dont complain”. Just because you work overtime DOES NOT MEAN you will collect more either, sure it sets you up for THE POSSIBILITY of collecting more but at the end of the day as an employee who regularly worked overtime ALWAYS hitting commission I am telling you its a waste of time unless you have nothing outside of work to look forward to. It’s the “tie a carrot to a stick” and see if they ever learn. This is late stage capitalism at its finest people.

Thanks for the posting…I think :) Our policies and pay structures are in place to ensure fairness and proper treatment for our entire staff as opposed to case by case scenarios. For privacy reasons, we don’t publicly discuss the handling of employee personnel issues and this, in itself, can sometimes lead to individual assumptions. Our company’s take away for this poor rating is that we did a sub-par job communicating how some of our policies and pay structures work to this ex-employee and we assumed they had an accurate understanding. The result clearly led to this ex-employee believing things that are simply not accurate. We conduct anonymous employee surveys and try to conduct exit interviews to provide a platform for constructive criticism and employee feedback. We have to assume that circumstances did not allow an exit interview for this individual or they participated and did not feel comfortable sharing these perceptions. None-the-less, we would gladly welcome a phone call or meeting to discuss any of the items outlined in this review. Obviously this review is far from what we would expect or want but we do appreciate the feedback and will continue to make American Profit Recovery a great place to work.

Pros

Even though it feels like prison you have a job so I guess that's a pro. Once in awhile you can look out the window and see the real world.

Cons

Management likes to pretend like they care. They give a lot of false hope and promises to get you in the door and then you find the real truth. I'd said there are about 5 people in the company who make any money and four of them are owners. There is a reason there has been a mass exodus of employees in the last year, when I started there a couple of years ago there were over 60 employees now they struggle to keep 20. Once you deduct your benefits you are making minimum wage at best. Out of pocket costs on insurance is $300-$900 based on how many people you want to cover. You are constantly scrutinized and ridiculed everyday. This ship is sinking fast, and the paper you get is garbage no way to get promoted unless you kiss but and pray that you can take over paper from someone who left.

Pros

2 of the owners are truly great people to work with. A lot of the employee's are very good people.

Cons

2 of the owners have nothing on their mind except greed. The company is insane. Insane policies and a lack of flexibility that is ~expected~ in 2019. This isn't 1965 anymore. So the 1965 BS you brought from the company that fired you. Yea, it doesn't work. The illegally treat salary employees as hourly. They violate the ADA and EEOE. They've created a system where they can deny every employee their unemployment.

There's obviously many false statements here. Although we tried very hard to work with this individual, sometime it just don't work out. We're not quite sure we understand the attempt to smudge our good reputation but wish you the best of luck none-the-less.
