Just when you think it couldn't get worse

Pros

Very few and disappearing fast.

Cons

I'd give zero * if it were an option, 1 star is far too generous. We used to be great, the best place to work. We loved everything about AW but... The current CEO is the worse thing to ever happen to this company. I understand he was the highest paid government employee during his time with 2012, Crossrail and HS2. You only have to look at the resounding success they were, to understand why AW is heading for the toilet fast, if we're not already there. Looking at our infrastructure, it won't be long before there's a catastrophic incident soon. HQ seem to forget what our primary purpose in life is, to provide clean water, deal with sewerage and protect the environment. Morale is rock bottom, and really it is, staff want to do their best, but it's bullied out of them by the "new" management structure, who seem to do nothing else but pander to the CEO's whims and fancies, rather than stand up to him and tell him the truth. He doesn't even know what we do out in the field. He is absolutely cluess. He appears to be ignorant, arrogant and a bully, threatening you if you question any decision. He seems to think we're a construction company and everyone should be dressed up in railway grade hi-vis. If the public found out how much we're wasting on totally un-needed uniforms for some sort of reason that defies any logic whatsoever, they'd be an uproar. We're not spending money on the important things such as maintenance. The head of this snake needs removing before it's too late for AW to be salvaged.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We note that you are a current employee, so we’d really encourage you to speak up about the concerns you’ve raised. You can do this through your manager, HR, or via our Inclusion reporting channels. It’s important to us that everyone feels safe, heard, and supported at work. We also recognise that you’ve been with the business for over 10 years, and that means you’ve seen a lot of change. Change can be challenging, but it’s always driven by a mindset of continuous improvement. As you’ll know, one of our core values is to ‘Always Explore’, and that includes encouraging challenge, listening to feedback, and finding better ways of doing things, while also making sure the business meets its goals. Regarding the recent PPE changes, we understand that adapting to new ways of working can be challenging. However, this update represents a significant investment in raising the standard of protection for our people, higher than we’ve ever had before. Our priority is always the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, and this change is about ensuring everyone has the best possible protection while doing their jobs. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and again we'd really encourage you to reach out.

Pros

I'm yet to think of one.

Cons

I couldn't agree more with the most recent review of Anglian entitled "CEO that shouts orders" - the business is going downhill - fast. Logic nor reason (nor morals) can stand in the way, People standing up for what is right are pushed to one side and I don't think it's a psychologically safe place for women (particularly) to work at, at the moment. I can only imagine like the last time they were going through a restructure (I have seen three) they ask their HR and marketing teams to leave 5* reviews, none of which will have very much detail. I'm loathed to point this out as now they'll probably start adding more detail but potential employees beware.

Pros

Private healthcare Flexible and understanding to part timers Friendly and welcoming Sympathetic Genuinely care about their customers

Cons

Not enough car parking for the amount of employees. Unable to get parked sometimes. Not much room for career progression but that’s more due to the fact people don’t tend to leave.
