Profess to be "people first" but unless your one of the boys, or under an EBA then you are expendable

I have been working at Australia Post part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

the people i work with are great, within a lpo you get to know your co-workers.
there is always support available when things don't go well

    Cons

working in customer service you will hear ALL of the issues and problems people will face with the postal system - and yes you will be to blame even if you have never seen this customer before in your life

can be stressful mentally and physically, not a job for everyone.

    Advice to Management

they need to be more organised. our unique employee numbers to access certain systems took a ridiculous time to arrive.

need to keep up to date with training and should constantly update all systems, especially for LPO stores that are basically left to fend for themselves.

I worked at Australia Post (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great work life balance.
You are solely responsible for your facilities which can be very rewarding and provides unlimited improvement project opportunities to keep you stimulated.
Australia Post values safety at its core and forms an intrinsic part of their Code of Ethics.

    Cons

There has been a raft of VRP's over the last decade which has seen some real talent be lost from the business to the point that there is little understanding of the roles and responsibilities of many positions.
Senior Management have not been chosen well in some states.
