I worked at Australia Post part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

it was close to home and the customers were lovely. Job was easy and brainless.

    Cons

Management was very unprofessional. Staff were rude to customers and manager was rude to everyone. Bullying by staff clicks and management, lack of employment as very quiet and HR did nothing about it nor did my manager.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at yourself, if you cannot deal with slightly difficult customers, then are you in the right job? As a manager, you are supposed to build your team not make them feel stupid. I have gone on to do bigger and better things, but after leaving this organisation I was made to feel like an idiot.

I have been working at Australia Post full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

great people, excellent opportunity for the business to grow and leverage trust and broad customer base

    Cons

too many layers of management, very political, lack of accountability at individual level

    Advice to Management

Due to lack of clarity on roles and responsibilities, jobs are "too safe" to a point where people play the political game rather than push for a better customer outcome

    Pros

Some great people and a business that is genuinely trying to evolve while not losing sight of their people
Great opportunity to grow your career in any area

    Cons

They operate in a regulated environment, making it difficult to generate real change. Some are risk averse and they are impacted by seemingly constant reshuffling/restructures

    Advice to Management

Continue with your focus on growing and evolving the business without losing sight of your most valuable resource - your people
