Variety and opportunity

Pros

Flexibility of working either from the office or from home. Tight-knit and friendly workforce. Variety of tasks that can be undertaken - no two days the same. Wide and exciting customer base, leading to opportunities to deal at high level with the full spectrum of public and non-public sector organisations. There is a place in the market for the company's product set, which invokes a pride in one's work.

Cons

There is an element of micro-management within the company. The rapidity and frequency of re-focussing priorities requires a flexible and accepting approach by the staff.

Indecisive Business

Pros

Located in Kings Cross, very easy for most employees to commute to and good choice of places for lunch.

Cons

- Indecisive management, lots of ideas but no commitment to see anything through. A lot of tasks get started but never get completed due to the CEO suggesting a different idea for employees to work on, rather than motivating the team to complete tasks. - Despite being a small company, nothing ever gets signed off. There's projects that are in the CEO's hands which the team have completed, but he would rather discuss his personal life on the phone to his lawyer or wife than provide feedback. - Linear hierarchy, CEO speaks to the operations team and developers appallingly. Witnessed him call someone "stupid and thick". I also witnessed him hang up during a conversation with the external IT manager and behaved incredibly unreasonable when his employees try to make suggestions or provide explanations to what he demands. - CEO constantly micro-managing. - Coming into the company, I asked simple things like "who do you speak to in your sales process, are they decision makers?" and none of the 6 employees and employer could provide an answer. They have no idea what is going on in their business or who their market is. - CEO and certain members of the team like to point the finger than work together to figure out a solution. - Their branding is all wrong, they have different names for the same product and are just as confused themselves.

Boomerang Messaging Response

Thank you for your feedback and we are very sorry to hear that your time with Boomerang did not meet with your expectations. As you will have been aware whilst working at Boomerang, the team here has been dedicated to, and focused on building a tool set of products and a customer base that we’re very proud to have achieved. This has required a clear vision and direction, along with an exceptional team of people, that have been able respond to the changing priorities required to move the organisation towards its goals. Unfortunately, some personalities are not able to embrace such challenges and opportunities, and it simply doesn’t work out for them. We’re sorry that you feel compelled to level personal slights at certain individuals within the company, but strongly feel that these reflect personal opinion rather than reality. We wish you all the very best with your future endeavours.
