Pros

Remote work. Pay is decent.

Cons

No 401k match We keeps buying other company's and its disorganized Lack of leads for our open jobs even though we get told we are getting more resources. If we don't have applicants all we use is indeed. People keep getting hired but we dont have enough work to split It feels like our jobs are at stake every day

Pros

Solace (now Care Options for Kids) used to be an amazing home healthcare unicorn that’s slowly morphing into a dilapidated donkey now that they were acquired by Webster Equity Partners.

Cons

This company uses smoke and mirrors to bring people aboard and then maximizes, shames and discards clinicians. 401k match GONE, paid holidays are productivity dependent, bonuses are for very few and selecte, and the company offers shameful prices for healthcare benefits with deductibles between 6-16k for family and 3-8k for individual (outrageous premiums included)

Thank you for your feedback and for your years of service with Solace, now Care Options for Kids. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly, as transparency and open communication are central to who we are as a company, which is why these changes were accompanied by two town halls and the open offer to call every person on the leadership team for one-on-one conversations. First, we want to emphasize that while the name has changed, our mission and commitment remain the same: to provide the best support for our team so they can continue delivering exceptional care to the children and families we serve. We have always been, and continue to be, focused on fostering a positive and supportive work environment. Regarding your concerns about the 401(k) match: this benefit was not eliminated but transitioned into a bonus structure for participating employees. This change ensures that no one lost out on what they previously earned. Additionally, we added paid holidays—something our employees had requested—making this an enhancement, not a reduction. We understand that changes can sometimes lead to misunderstandings or frustration. However, it’s important not to get caught up in rumors or misinformation. We encourage you to take a closer look at your specific circumstances, as the benefits and opportunities we provide are designed to support our team comprehensively. We remain committed to improving our offerings where possible, including actively seeking more competitive healthcare options to address industry-wide challenges. While we understand that these benefits may not meet everyone’s ideal, they are far from "shameful" and are structured with careful consideration for the well-being of our team. Your voice matters to us, and we invite you to share any specific suggestions or concerns directly with management. By working together, we can ensure that Care Options for Kids continues to be an exceptional place to work and grow. Thank you again for your dedication and the difference you make for the families we serve.

Pros

I really appreciate the workplace culture, the supportive managers and staff, and the flexibility this job offers. It’s especially refreshing not to be micromanaged, which makes for a much more positive work environment.

Cons

It pains me to write this review about a company I once loved working for. After five+ years with Solace, I can no longer recommend them. Things were great for so long, but recent changes have been deeply disappointing. The final blow was the decision to eliminate the 401(k) match, which was a key reason I accepted a $10-$15 per session pay cut compared to other companies. Without this benefit, there's little incentive to stay when other home health companies offer better compensation. It’s heartbreaking to see what Solace has become—a far cry from the small, employee-focused company it once was, now feeling more like a hedge fund operation than a supportive workplace.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your dedication over the past five-plus years. We’re grateful for your contributions and value the opportunity to address your concerns while clarifying some misconceptions about recent changes. First, while we understand the concern around the transition of the 401(k) match, it’s important to note that this benefit was not eliminated. Instead, it was restructured into a bonus program, ensuring that employees participating in the match did not lose any value. Additionally, we recently enhanced our compensation package by reducing health benefit costs and adding paid holidays—an improvement that many employees had asked for. One of the unique benefits we continue to offer is our vehicle program, which remains unparalleled in the home health industry. From the moment of hire, employees are provided with a fully insured, maintained, and registered vehicle, including gas coverage, with the company shouldering 60% of this cost. This benefit, combined with a low weekly visit requirement of just 22 visits (equivalent to about 11 hours of treatment), reflects our commitment to supporting a sustainable and rewarding work-life balance. We recognize that changes can be challenging and may leave some feeling disheartened. However, the foundation of Care Options for Kids (formerly Solace) remains steadfast: to provide the best employment opportunities and support for our team so they can focus on delivering exceptional care to the children and families we serve. Despite these adjustments, we continue to prioritize our employees’ well-being and professional growth. We deeply appreciate your passion for what Solace has been and your concern for what it can be. If you’d like to discuss your specific circumstances further or share ideas on how we can continue improving, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can ensure Care Options for Kids remains a place where team members feel valued and supported. Thank you again for your feedback and the work you do to make a difference in the lives of so many families.
