Pros

Catering, garden, WFH, unlimited vacations, transportation, USD salaries, modern tech stack and good people on the team.

Cons

Pressure, pressure and pressure. Absolutely no work-life balance. If you're a workaholic, then have fun! You have to be happy or fake-happy and you can't criticise the company or management or you'll be labelled as a negative person. Salaries are a bit low for juniors, you can expect a raise if you are a puppet or burry yourself at work. The company promotes itself as an AI company but there isn't a bit of AI there, and in my opinion, the management there has no *I* at all. Weird things happen all the time, people leave or get fired for vague reasons, people move to other teams for no apparent reason, weird policies come out of nowhere. Word of advice, ignore the shiny beautiful naive reviews that say the company is a heaven on earth. It has its pros and cons, so get real and define what you want in a working place then decide.

This won’t be possible without honest feedback from our current team members, or people who used to work with us in the past like you. So thanks a lot for this feedback! Regarding pressure, I agree that the pace in our team is much higher than other places. While this may inconvenience some people, its also something that many people seek. We are building a global company with a global product that is the first of its kind, and we are competing with giants across the world. As a young startup, we are all working extra hard to make our dream come true, and to make a dent in the universe. Regarding the other reviews, we work hard to make Cognitev a unique company in spirit and culture. While you may label people who view our culture positively as “naive”, I believe that everyone is entitled to their own view, and we are super proud that these people are on our team, and we are looking for everyone who shares their positivity and great attitude. If we are able to make them happy, this is something we will do everything we can to spread to everyone else. Regarding turnover, as we are currently evolving and rapidly growing as a company, this inevitably brings change and turnover. This is a natural part of any startup’s journey. But it’s unfortunate and we really hate it. Regarding management, we are constantly learning and evolving ourselves. Each new stage of our journey doesn’t come with a manual. We do make mistakes, lots of them as we progress and grow. But we have a deep commitment to receiving and acting on feedback from our team through weekly company-wide surveys, monthly one-to-ones with all team members, and weekly townhall meetings. This helps us to learn and improve in every aspect, it is indeed a life-long journey. Thanks again for the time you spent working with us, and wishing you the best of luck in your next challenge

Pros

I have dealt with many startups in the Middle east over the past few years, and Cognitev is the closest thing to silicon valley in my opinion, the professionalism, and the fun at the same time are not compared to any other place, and what is beautiful about the team, is that every one is really an expert in his/her field which is helping every one to move fast and build something that actually works and is of a value. adding to all of that, we are really changing the world, we all do have that feeling getting stronger every day.

Cons

i think this is normal in most of the startups, sometimes the stress level is a bit high, whenever that stress level is controlled everything gets better and better

Pros

Working at Cognitev has been the best decision I’ve ever made. The office culture is amazing, people are so friendly and kind. If you want to work for a silicon valley company in Cairo, Egypt then Cognitev is the only choice you have. Cognitev always made me feel like the company was driven from the bottom-up, with the engineers and s-team members having the responsibility to drive the company forward, rather than waiting for management to tell them what to do. Cognitev has been driven by a culture of prototyping, shipping, and iterating. The result is an environment where the biggest limit on innovation is our own ability to get ideas implemented. Even though Cognitev is a technology company, we lead our decision-making with people, not code. Rather than developing technology for its own sake and then figuring out how to package it up into products that users might want, we start by imagining the most powerful ways we could improve people’s lives, and then drill into what technology we are going to need to realize that vision to make the internet a better place. I learned a lot of lessons in that first year as a leader, and made my fair share of mistakes along the way. But because of our emphasis on moving fast and being bold, my team and my manager gave me a lot of support and helped me use mistakes as learning experiences to improve my skills. During my time at Cognitev I was never gated by the company but rather my own ability to grow and adapt. That’s what I really think sets Cognitev apart from any other company I have worked at, it is an environment that really encourages people to take on big challenges and step outside of their comfort zone. Pros Focus on impact To have the biggest impact, we need to focus on solving the most important problems. It sounds simple, but most companies do this poorly and waste a lot of time. We expect everyone at Cognitev to be good at finding the biggest problems to work on. Move fast Moving fast enables us to build more things and learn faster. We’re less afraid of making mistakes than we are of losing opportunities by moving too slowly. We are a culture of builders, the power is in your hands. Be open We believe that a more open world is a better world. The same goes for our company. Informed people make better decisions and have a greater impact, which is why we work hard to make sure everyone at Cognitev has access to as much information about the company as possible and can submit their feedback anonymously on weekly bases. People Centric We believe people are the most important part of our success, we focus on developing people personal and professional skills, we use (Objectives and Key Results ) OKRs and (Personal Development Plan) PDP to improve people life and help them to grow.

Cons

Cons The bar is high and we keep raising it, if you're not up to the challenge don't join Cognitev as it will be hard for you to keep up with the smart ambitious people there. If you want a comfort zone, don’t' think about joining Cognitev, although it's fun, exciting, amazing to work at Cognitev but it's not a comfort zone to rest in peace and do just a routine job.
