Pros

- The team and people 'in the trenches' are great and very knowledge - compensation is fine, not great not terrible - the technology is good, with the potential of being great

Cons

- management is leading without employees situations being considered (removal of set WFH days / switching to cubical office design / removed wellness days) - very management heavy organization with low communication - many staff departures are leaving departments short staffed

Pros

Generous Paid Time Off: 20 vacation days, 10 flexible days, and Christmas break. Positive Work Environment: Supportive, multicultural team; experienced members help less experienced ones. Career Growth Opportunities: Enhanced career paths and advancements since new CEO took over. Improved Performance: Significant stock price increase and financial growth. Strong Company Culture: Core values include Integrity, Collaboration, and more. Management Recognition: Quarterly employee spotlights for outstanding contributions.

Cons

Work-Life Balance: Occasionally compromised by heavy workloads and staffing issues. Compensation: Currently lower compared to industry standards, but potential for improvement. Employee Retention: Key staff let go without retention efforts, affecting morale.

Pros

CMG fosters a psychologically safe work environment where everyone’s voice is heard. Cross-functional teams are empowered and agile-minded, creating a strong sense of ownership and engagement. The recent shift to forming squads for focused prioritization was a clever and effective move—it has truly empowered teams to accelerate progress toward their goals. Squads enable both team members and leaders to collaborate more efficiently and deliver impactful results. The CEO’s playbooks, experience reports, and open dialogue during town halls have significantly enhanced transparency and brings a culture of inclusiveness. The renovation efforts are for a better tomorrow, and while there are minor discomforts along the way, I see the sunshine ahead.

Cons

Career advancement paths and role transitions could be improved with more development plans. Resource planning and prioritization sometimes face challenges due to shifting strategic priorities.

Pros

Team leads and members are not only highly knowledgeable but also incredibly supportive and welcoming. If you ever get the chance to join CMG, grab it; you’ll be part of an amazing team and a great place to grow.

Cons

Many of the challenges within the company appear to originate from leadership. The CEO does not have a background in oil and gas, which has at times led to decisions that may not align with industry best practices. Unfortunately, accountability is often placed on employees rather than shared across leadership, as reflected in the recent bonus distribution, 100% for VPs compared to 50% for other employees. Additionally, the VP of Core and the VP of Sales & CSC come from different industries, and their limited experience in oil and gas is evident when reviewing their professional backgrounds. This lack of industry expertise at the senior level impacts overall direction and performance.
