Pros

. Initially supportive work environment • Opportunity to work in a growing industry

Cons

• Inconsistent and unfair management practices • Lack of support for employees with specific needs • Mismanagement of promised benefits and allowances • Performance improvement plans used unfairly • Poor communication and support from leadership The company is struggling financially and unable to secure necessary investments. They lack the funds to complete projects and frequently turn down jobs due to financial constraints. Their technology is faulty, and claims of smart charging are misleading. They are now re-engineering their chargers and looking to buy cheaper ones, which do not match their advertised products.

Thank you for your review, Connected Kerb pride themselves on creating a supportive work environment and do hope all employees feel able to be at their best whilst at work. At times we need to offer this support in different ways, such as implementing performance improvement plans should expectations not be met. Connected Kerb ensure these processes are run fairly and efficiently, ensuring the employee is supported by not only their manager but the People team or our EAP scheme. Our Leadership team communicate as openly and honestly as they can on a regular basis. Connected Kerb has been transparent about the challenges the business is currently facing, and it is clear that these challenges are being faced across the industry. Our products are at the heart of what we do, and we pride ourselves and our reputation on the quality of what we deliver to our customers. We innovate and review continuously to ensure we are bringing the best products to market and provide honest insights to customers about the products we will deliver. We are always open to feedback but want it to be constructive. If you are open to reaching out to a member of the People team, we would love to speak with you directly regarding your views and gain more specific insights into some of the experiences you have shared. Pros

None as it’s not the same company I thought it was when I joined

Cons

They have so many heads off and are top heavy. I recently heard they have made loads of redundancies some good people they have lost and lo and behold the same management who do nothing especially in the delivery team are still present. CK need to really look into management and their bullying ways and value their employees who have made a difference to the company. I’m sure all these heads of are overpaid and this is allowed because their mate brought them into the company! I couldn’t tell you what some of these heads of do they delegate tasks to their team and over work them whilst going on holiday every single month. The HR process needs a-lot of work. The way they deal with things is absolutely poor. The company will soon lose a lot of big players because of their mistakes. I’m glad I got out when I did

Thank you Following on from your comments I wanted to offer you the opportunity to speak to a member of the People Team directly as the claims you have stated regarding ‘management and their bullying ways’ are concerning. Bullying is not something that Connected Kerb tolerate and we encourage an open culture where employees can raise any concerns with their Line Manager or use our internal policies if they wish to take more formal action. In terms of our recruitment practice we do encourage all of our colleagues to recommend contacts from their network and promote our employee referral scheme, this is a great way to reach out to top talent and not an uncommon practice across all industries. Organisations go through different cycles and having grown significantly and quickly, we recognise that this can come with challenges at times. We continue to learn the best way in which to operate to serve our customers and drivers, making changes when needed to ensure the business is able to reach its mission of changing the world for good, one charge at a time. If you would like to reach out directly to discuss any of your comments further please do email talent@connectedkerb.co.uk’

Grossly disappointing - over sold and never delivered

Pros

Some of the most talented staff

Cons

Commitments for benefits and basic tools (cars for example) were made and rarely delivered and those who dared to speak up were swiftly terminated, this led to a very anxious and supressed workforce, some of which were hugely talented. Disorganised, disrespectful, poor management and were unable to satisfy contractual obligations but expected staff to sign an opt-out agreement to work 48 hours+. Evidence of bullying and exploiting staff, some of whom worked excessive overtime without pay and treated staff as disposable. Be wary of any benefits discussed as these will be utilised as golden handcuffs and will never come to fruition. Turnover of staff was excessive.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are proud of the extremely talented team that we have at Connected Kerb and strive to achieve a culture that gives our brilliant people the freedom to express feedback both positive and constructive. As a startup/scaleup, yes, this does mean that not all our processes are 100% in place and in the recruitment process we’re clear about this so everyone joining knows what to expect. We are steadily growing our team to bring in the talent to evolve and develop our benefits and ensure we deliver what we promise. As a small business we do expect a lot from our people and some of our objectives can require additional hours. However, we make sure that all our teams are well supported and offer TOIL when necessary to ensure everyone is getting the rest they need. Your comments regarding bullying are of course concerning and I encourage you to reach out to me directly to have a conversation on any specific examples you may have witnessed. We want our people to feel comfortable to communicate all concerns with either the C-Suite or the People Team directly and will deal with any allegations of this nature seriously and in line with our policy.
