Pros

Nice office, that is all!

Cons

Never seen so much backstabbing among staff. For example, an admin staff decides she is going to change career and everybody is nice to her while she is there. The moment she has gone to Uni on one of her days off, all her so called friends are calling to drop her because the admin duties are not getting completed. Suggestions of getting someone else on her days off are met with no, get rid of her and just get one full time. This is just one example of too many to write on here. Disgusting. Further, backstabbing and bullying gets even more frantic when they fail to win bids they are so pompously sure are going to win. This is the mentality of the work environment there. They have small gatherings and if your face doesn't fit, you won't get on! This has been noted in different departments by numerous individuals. Aecom like to talk highly about their people in their promotional material when actually they don't care at all about their people. Bullying blatantly carries on under the noses of management. I've seen people brought in from overseas, these very people have given up their lives and jobs back home, only to be let go several months after their arrival due to lack of promised work. This is an appalling way to treat people. The 'pommies' seem to have joined Aecom Australia en-masse and its clear to see that there is discontent and exclusion by the locals. I will reiterate my heading, if you are seriously thinking about joining Aecom, I would advise against it, they're not interested in you as an employee but just another number to hire and fire when the market and shareholders need satisfying.
