Pros
There is depth of personnel in many varied areas so that in theory you can call on their assistance on projects.
Cons
This Frankenstein company is full of spiteful, selfish swine. The vast majority do not care the slightest about engineering or doing a good job for clients. All they care about are themselves and how they can use others to get ahead. AECOM supports a culture of internal competition, conflict and rivalry. The AECOM Code of Conduct is a meaningless joke. Managers are always finger pointing whenever something goes wrong. There is no support or responsibility. You are alone and the centre of blame. A certain set of lazy slobs come into work in the morning and then proceed to get out their bowls of cereal and spend 30-45 minutes eating breakfast. Must be nice to sleep in. Not sure what job number they use to keep up their billability. Open plan office is noisy and distractive. People eavesdrop and comment on your conversations and look over your shoulder to read your emails or whatever is on your screen. Constant snooping by others. Some very aggressive, workaholic individuals who expect you to be working the same ludicrous 80+ hours/week that they do, including weekends. They also have no respect for the fact that you have other projects and deadlines and they expect you to drop everything for them. One notorious group manager was bullying people over a period of years. AECOM did nothing about it other than reward him with promotions. Not sure what this company is doing in the Afghanistan and Iraq but not doubt involves making money, exploiting people and ripping off the US government. AECOM will sour your interest in engineering and make you feel stressed, miserable and abused.
