Pros
I love my job, the people I work with, and the projects I work on. I feel like I am responsible for my career growth and project delivery.
Cons
I hate my employer. We are underpaid and have horrible health benefits. The company's main focus is on shareholder returns. The company has become a bureaucratic behemoth that can't get out of its own way. The company is in denial of its ability to function and places overwhelming amounts of pressure on its Project Managers and is reluctant to provide adequate support staff and training. The company seeks ways to limit salary increases to 2.5% regardless of performance. When concerns are raised about the work place environment, the managers and business unit leaders are essentially non responsive. The company does not listen to its employees. I would not work for AECOM. I am actively looking for employment elsewhere. If you are a potential, sub consultant don't expect payment for your work for at least 6 to 12 months. If you are curious as to why, the company wants to make sure it's bottom line meets investor's financial metrics.
