Pros

Provides free fruit and biscuits Office is clean and well maintained with nice views (if you are near a window) Good coffee machine

Cons

This company is totally lacking in transparency regarding promotions. Year after year at my performance appraisal I was told by the group leader that he had put me forward for promotion but it had been rejected because I "wasn't well enough known in the company". How on earth is that measured? Did he do survey and ask people if they knew me? I really tried hard to meet and interact with other people in AECOM to no avail. Then one day I heard my group leader speaking with another leader about who they had recommended for promotions. My name was not mentioned, but two other people in the group with lower qualifications and less experience were. So, my group leader was a total liar and hadn't recommended me at all. How could he lie about something so important as this? Leaders at AECOM cannot be trusted. There is no way of knowing whether you have actually been put forward for promotion at all. There is no clear and transparent process for being promoted. There is no formal paperwork regarding promotions and no clarity on what you have to do. What happens is that the leader's favourite poodles get promoted at the expense of others. One of AECOM's other many lies is about global mobility. They make it sound as if you can work anywhere you want. That is not the case at all. Don't believe anything they say.

Pros

Decent company, good stock plan, good people who want to see you grow

Cons

Very remote management makes things hard, very little team work is locally siloed so its hard for managers to understand the boots on the ground view. Managers are great people but spread very thin, sometimes they accept work before having staff for it(classic consulting move)
