Pros

IF you are hired right out of college, it is an incredible learning experience. You run your own business and get paid 85k plus an Audi plus good vacation. 22 years old making that kind of money is incredible. You don’t know any better so you just work.

Cons

IF you are hired as a experienced DM is 25 years old or so. Then, you see how lazy people who start are, and just because a 22 yr old isn’t married or has kids they can work 90 hours a week. This job is good for rookies who want to get paid right out of college. Terrible for anyone with experience. Essentially you are the store manager for 5 stores. Read the review by the person from South Windsor. It is spot on. I worked 5 years and moved all over, improved financials and never had to have anyone worry about me. I never had any development past my 3rd year and did really well. But, all Aldi cares about is looking at the guest log and seeing what time you worked. It’s crazy. You are a worker bee, don’t expect a thank you. Don’t expect anything more than “what have you done for me today?” Also, you’re better off firing people than giving them the opportunity to improve.

Pros

+ industry leading wages Associates - $12/hr, Shift Mgr - $16/hr, SMT - $23/hr, Store Manager - $75,000+/yr + great work environment + excellent training + health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k + 40-50 hr/wk with paid overtime Very fast paced so work hours fly by. I loved working at Aldi. The pay was great! Benefits great! Was training to be a store manager so a lot was expected of me but I was totally up for it. My store manager loved my work, associates loved my fairness, customers loved me.

Cons

+ work/life balance + walked 28,000 steps/day!!! Never thought I would be fired for clocking in only minutes late!!
