Pros

The compensation is decent, but you don't really have any time to enjoy your paycheck because you're working nonstop. There are some really nice people, and management takes your complaints really seriously if there is a workplace issue. The company is expanding rapidly in the next 5 years, so there is room to move up if you can hack it.

Cons

You are working 10-14 hr days 6 days a week and expected to blindly follow policy. They do not appreciate critical thinking or analytical questions. It's a very much "do as you're told and smile" type of environment. ALDI is not looking for "smart" people, they are looking for "smart enough" so be prepared to dumb yourself down otherwise you will be seen as a problem. Work-life balance is nonexistent. You get a company car, but are so exhausted, you might just fall asleep at the wheel. The customers can be super mean and unreasonable, the produce comes in from the warehouse moldy, and the ground beef has premature browning. It's really tough to believe in the company when you see that stuff. I would not shop at ALDI after working there. They pay competitive salaries/wages above market average, but really abuse their employees because they know they won't be able to make as much money anywhere else with their skill set.

I loved working at Aldi. The pay was great! Benefits great! Was training to be a store manager so a lot was expected of me but I was totally up for it. My store manager loved my work, associates loved my fairness, customers loved me.

Cons

+ work/life balance + walked 28,000 steps/day!!! Never thought I would be fired for clocking in only minutes late!!
