Pros

Excellent pay - although no longer a large pay gap as there once was. Pay incentive for staying with the company. Career progression - great at internal promotions as witnessed from people who have been with the company for years. Working with a variety of people - there are some great employees out there!

Cons

No work/life balance - early starts, late finishes, minimal weekends off. Long hours. Very physical work - which is great until you sustain an injury but are still required to do manual work due to the demands of the job People get stuck in the job - I worked there less than a year, the saddest part for me was when I told others I was leaving they were upset they couldn't leave too and felt trapped The culture in some stores - racist/sexist/homophobic comments considered normal "banter"

Pros

Great pay Hours were always there The manager at my location is a rare gem. Never had a boss quite like him. Everyone I worked with became like my family.

Cons

EXTREMELY physically demanding. I injured myself multiple times while I worked there.

Pros

+ industry leading wages Associates - $12/hr, Shift Mgr - $16/hr, SMT - $23/hr, Store Manager - $75,000+/yr + great work environment + excellent training + health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k + 40-50 hr/wk with paid overtime Very fast paced so work hours fly by. I loved working at Aldi. The pay was great! Benefits great! Was training to be a store manager so a lot was expected of me but I was totally up for it. My store manager loved my work, associates loved my fairness, customers loved me.

Cons

+ work/life balance + walked 28,000 steps/day!!! Never thought I would be fired for clocking in only minutes late!!
